Nathan Norrie – Pre-Sales Consulting Manager
“I joined Hostworks in August 2010 as Sales Consulting Manager, heading up the presales operation for the company. My role involves working directly with the sales team and customers providing them with solutions to the meet their business needs. I joined Hostworks because I saw it had a unique culture in the managed IT services market; from operations through to sales, the company was focused on delivering solutions; customised to meet its customers’ requirements. Hostworks’ customer base was also unique in the market as was the level of services Hostworks provides its customers; they were more than a colo or hosting provider.
So, one year on what have I found? The culture is as I had suspected: positive, supportive and technically strong, grounded in a ‘can do’ attitude. The staff here are proud of what they do, who our customers are and what it is we do for our customers. We focus on delivering market leading and technologically advanced solutions to our customers, providing tangible value and benefits. The company as a whole is focused on making a difference, delivering services beyond the required level, and are supportive and committed in delivering benefits to our customers and internally to staff.
I joined Hostworks because I saw it had a unique culture in the managed IT services market...one year on what have I found? The culture is as I had suspected: positive, supportive and technically strong, grounded in a ‘can do’ attitude.
Personally, I have been supported in completing external studies, having completed my Master of Management, and have been rewarded by peers for efforts and contributions to the business. I see my career further developing in the presales function within Hostworks, supporting the sales team and achieving the strategic targets of the business. Would I recommend Hostworks to my friends? I already have and they have already joined the team.”
Jessica Doherty – Professional Services Manager
“After consulting in the RFID and pharmaceutical spaces in the USA with Accenture, I moved to Australia and started a role with Hostworks in 2007 as a Project Manager for ninemsn. I was drawn to Hostworks by the opportunity to work with big name customers while living near the beaches and vines of Adelaide. Over the next two years, I was given the autonomy to develop the Project Management Office framework, processes and templates and worked with the business to implement new technologies to support consistent and mature processes in project delivery and change management.
Amazing people, energetic culture and dynamic environment that always provides an opportunity to grow and feel challenged
I was then promoted to PMO Manager, responsible for the leadership of the team of Project Managers and ensuring that customer and internal projects were delivered on time, to quality standards and on budget.
A year later, the organisation restructured to allow teams to focus independently upon revenue and service. I was fortunate to advance into the role of Professional Services Manager, working to ensure revenue and internal products are delivered to the business quickly and in line with best practice. This was achieved by streamlining the work of the Architecture and Design, Project Management Office and Engineering teams within the group.
I continue to enjoy coming to work at Hostworks 4 years later due to the amazing people, energetic culture and dynamic environment that always provides an opportunity to grow and feel challenged.”

“I joined Hostworks and started my IT career in early 2004 as a Level 2 Network Operations Centre Analyst, where I was responsible for the initial troubleshooting of incidents and Web and SQL administration. This entry position gave me a great opportunity to expose myself to a large range of platforms and software through which I could identify where my interests lay and focus on developing my skills to progress my career.
6 years later, and after a number of stepping stones, I have advanced my career to a Level 3 Engineer working in our Professional Services division. I attribute my success thus far to Hostworks giving me the opportunity to develop my skills across a wide range of Windows software platforms and Microsoft products, such as IIS, MSSQL and Exchange, through to more specialised products like Websphere and various monitoring and Backups platforms.
I continue to enjoy the fantastic work culture at Hostworks and working with some of Australia’s largest online media companies. I look forward to building and configuring future customer Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 environments and continuing to strengthen my technical skills to provide superior support to our customers.”

“I commenced with Hostworks April 2010 as a Level 2 Network Operations Centre Analyst. Having no prior work experience in IT but rather only a passion and curiosity about IT that I toyed with at home, Hostworks was the platform I used to kick-start my career in IT. Twelve months on, I have since been promoted to a Level 3 Network Operations Centre Analyst.
what’s most appealing to me about working for Hostworks is the proven ability to advance my technical knowledge and move my IT career forward
I attribute my personal career success to Hostworks giving me the opportunity to showcase my capabilities without official accreditation and by entrusting me to take on more difficult and advanced tasks, which resulted in me being promoted.
During my time here I have enjoyed working in a fast-paced, professional IT environment, where I get the opportunity to work with some of Australia’s most renowned websites, like ninemsn and carsales every day. However, what’s most appealing to me about working for Hostworks is the proven ability to advance my technical knowledge and move my IT career forward. I now aim to further develop my career within Hostworks’ Network Operations Centre by specialising my skills in scripting and virtualisation and I look forward to the challenge.”
