Hostworks History

Hostworks Limited began in Adelaide as a public company in 1999 to take on the hosting and management of MSN (the Microsoft Network) for Australia forming the fourth such facility globally. Growing rapidly from here, the company listed on the ASX in February 2001 through a merger with its largest shareholder to form Hostworks Group Limited.

Later in 2001, Hostworks acquired Interpath Australia which broadened its skill base outside of the Microsoft platform and added a range of high profile customers. In 2005 a second acquisition, that of Dimension Data Central, lead to the company cementing its presence within the Sydney marketplace.

The company has since grown to encompass over 70 customers and over 200 applications including many of the largest and most complex online applications in Australia.

In December 2007 Hostworks announced that it would be acquired by Broadcast Australia which was successfully concluded in March 2008.
