06 Jul Courtney Barnett’s Sold Out Hometown Show [Moshcam]
WATCH FULL VIDEO OF COURTNEY BARNETT’S SOLD OUT HOMETOWN SHOW NOW ON MOSHCAM
Moshcam was privileged to exclusively film one of Australia’s foremost contemporary artists Courtney Barnett earlier this year. Today, we are thrilled to share with you the full film in all its HD glory. The full-length concert is available to stream now at www.moshcam.com.
Courtney Barnett has played hundreds of shows over the last couple of years, gracing stages at Glastonbury, Lollapalooza, St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival, the Ellen Show… the list goes on! With all that time on the road away from home, you can only imagine what it felt like for Courtney to look up at the billboard above Melbourne’s historic Forum Theatre, to see that all three of her own headline shows had sold out. What followed were three incredibly special gigs, and we’re delighted that we were there one night to capture all of the magic on film! From end to end, it was ‘one of those shows’ that we live for as music lovers. Leaving her homegrown amazed, this was a band at their absolute best, turning the palatial spaces of the Forum Theatre into what felt like an intimate venue we all know. Sing-alongs, encores, Moshcam was there to catch it in HD. Courtney released her debut LP Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit on Milk! Records in March this year. Receiving rave reviews around the world, the album debuted at #4 on the ARIA Charts and #10 on the Billboard Charts in the US.
“Richly rewarding debut” – Guardian
“Full of wry slacker pop and caustic humour” – NME
“Sometimes is the work of probably the best lyricist writing today, and roundly deserves to be an album for the ages. If it’s not, that’s only because she’ll have found a way to top it next time around.” – The Line Of Best Fit.
Most recently Courtney Barnett’s “Pedestrian At Best” was named Rolling Stone’s track of 2015 so far. On the night Courtney played 16 tracks including a cover from The Breeders and The Lemonheads.
